HEAT:EndingSecretPorkSpending
Signed into lawMost House Dems voted against
The HEAT plan makes every spending-item request public 45 days before a vote, with a stated purpose and the names of the lawmaker and the recipient.
What we say
First, we brought the HEAT (Hall Ethics Accountability and Transparency) in 2025 to stop shady pork spending projects made behind closed doors. Now we're going even further to stop bad actors from cutting those deals to benefit themselves. Elected officials are supposed to work for YOU, not special interests and lobbyists making backroom deals.
Key facts
